Incentives future

There is quite a bit of financial and policy support for renewables – most of it at the state level. Several significant Federal programs are also available. The first step when looking for such programs should be a Web search, starting with the information here and then moving on to the DSIRE Web site. These two sources will point you to further web sites and personal contacts for more information. With any such program, however, it's always wise to speak with both the program manager and someone who has made use of the funds or program. The program manager can fill you in on funding, deadlines, and other tidbits that may not be on the Web site, while another user will often have valuable insider knowledge of how to make the funds or program work for you. Locating the program manager is usually straightforward: poking about in the sponsoring agency's Web site will usually yield up a name and a contact number or email. Be sure to ask the program manager for a contact at an organization that has made successful use of the funds or program.
